about

Lifeline is taken from the forthcoming EP 'Blue Volume', third in a series from Bristol's Copper Kites. The complete EP is soon to be released and this is a taster track. 'Blue Volume' follows the 'Red Questions' and 'Green Kapital' EPs.

Lifeline is a snapshot of psychological slavery and the relief found in the one pure person or thing that is your refuge - your rescue.

Of the music-making, the bird-men say, "We conceived Lifeline in a previous life and the 'Blue Volume' idea in 2014. The music is the beating metal wings of our post-punk ‘bird of prey’ incarnation. From our vantage points above the skyline we dive down to collect what’s ours for the taking. But we give and take musically and culturally. We do this in blank masks to avoid false emotion and to remove ambiguity from the creative process. In mythology the goddess Isis took the form of a kite to resurrect the dead. We wear the masks of our mythical bird-selves to breathe life into our music. A higher power told us to act in this way."

WATCH THE VIDEOS TOO. Copper Kites' songs often feature an accompanying punk-art video. lyrics

(LOOKING FOR A) LIFELINE

Down at the river of pain
You left no option
Down at the river of pain
You had no quarter
Down at the river of pain
You took your option
Down at the river of pain
Woo hooo!

Looking for a lifeline (looking for a lifeline)
Through the storm
I see you.
